Welcome to kubu-online.de

I'm one of the these crazy Germans, who spend a lot of money to reduce CO2 emissions ;-).

On my homepage I describe the possibilities of energy saving by exchange of a 17-year-old gas heating (installed in summer 1990) and exhange of a gas boiler at same age against a "Brennwerttherme" (anyone, who knows the English word? It's a heating which also uses the energy of exhaust gas) and an additional installation of an solar thermal collector installation for heating and warm water preparation. The objective was: Reducing the gas usage by 50% or more.

On 18th May 2007 I had the opportunity to show my collector installation to Professor Garimella from Woodruff School in Atalanta/Georgia, who was in Germany visiting some friends in the neighbourhood and was going to give a course in Global Warming in Karlsruhe. He seemed to be very impressed and told me that he will implement my installation and homepage into his lectures to give a view into German energy saving measures to his students. And I will pick up the chance to inform interested Americans as much as I can, to show that energy saving is more than an idea. Therefore I decided to translate my homepage into English, but you can read it in German as well.

Professor Garimella (and his team) teaches Heat Transfer, Combustion, Energy Systems, Fluid Mechanics, Sustainable Technologies, Phase Change in Microchannel, Compact Heat Exchangers and Heat and Mass Transfer in Binary Mixtures.

Furtheron I had to replace our 15 year old wooden terrace last year. While searching the Internet for suitable wood I found out that many people are interested in planning and building such a terrace. Therefore I often took my camera and recorded the different phases.

But now let's start...

Thanks to my 14-year-old son Stefan, who didn't like the design of the first version and who helped a lot to create this homepage. He redesigned my homepage and did the initial coding so that I easily can  enter the contents now. I was very impressed, when I saw him acting with lots of programs at high speed to create prototypes. Good for you!
